The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has called for stronger unity among Rivers State political leaders. He emphasized collaboration to deliver greater democratic dividends to citizens.
Wike made the remarks on Friday during a “thank-you” visit to Andoni Local Government Area. This stop marked the 20th on his ongoing tour of local governments. The tour aims to appreciate the people’s support for President Bola Tinubu in 2023 and to rally further backing ahead of 2027 elections.
The former Rivers State governor highlighted that major parties in the state now operate under a “Rainbow Coalition.” He urged community leaders to maintain cohesion and present a united front for Tinubu’s return in 2027.“
Unity has brought progress. No single person can dictate development in Andoni. By God’s grace, leaders’ unity will attract more benefits,” Wike stated.
He further explained that Rivers State currently has no sole ruling party, but the Rainbow Coalition under the Renewed Hope Family. He encouraged everyone to continue supporting Tinubu, noting, “There is no negotiation on this matter.”
Earlier, Andoni Council Chairman Lucky Otuo expressed gratitude for Wike’s visit. He pledged community support for Tinubu in 2027, warning that anyone opposing their “mandate” would face consequences.“
Andoni people are grateful. Come 2027, we will vote for Mr President. Anyone opposing our mandate will face fire,” Otuo affirmed.
