Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has dropped to fifth place on the list of Africa’s most valuable footballers, according to Transfermarkt market values.
Osimhen is currently valued at €75m, placing him behind Ivory Coast winger Yan Diomande at €90m, while Achraf Hakimi, Antoine Semenyo and Ayyoub Bouaddi are each valued at €80m. Manchester United’s Bryan Mbeumo is level with Osimhen at €75m.
The decline in Osimhen’s ranking comes despite an impressive start to the 2026/27 season. The Galatasaray striker has scored four goals and provided one assist in his first two matches.
He remains one of Europe’s most sought-after forwards, with Arsenal and Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal reportedly monitoring his situation before the transfer window closes.
Globally, Osimhen ranks among the world’s most valuable forwards and remains the highest-valued Nigerian footballer. His €75m valuation also makes him the most valuable player in the Turkish Super Lig.
The Nigerian striker has continued to build an impressive record at Galatasaray, scoring 63 goals in 76 appearances since joining the Turkish champions.
His market value also reflects his pedigree in major transfers. His move from Lille to Napoli and subsequent transfer to Galatasaray have both ranked among the most expensive African transfers in football history.
