A Nigerian teacher, Elizabeth Adeagbo, is set to be sentenced on May 14 after being convicted of assaulting a toddler at a UK nursery.
The court heard that the 29-year-old lifted the child by one arm, an act described by prosecutors as inappropriate. CCTV footage showed the child crying after the incident.
Adeagbo, who expressed remorse, said she acted without intent to harm. Medical checks later confirmed the child sustained no physical injuries.
She will be sentenced at Liverpool Magistrates’ Court.
