Turkish Airlines has renewed its commitment to global sports by signing a new three-year golf sponsorship agreement. The airline reaffirmed its long-standing support for elite professional golf and international sporting events. This renewed partnership strengthens its presence within the global golf community.
Under the agreement, Turkish Airlines will retain title sponsorship of the Turkish Airlines Open. The tournament remains a flagship event on the DP World Tour calendar. It will continue to hold annually in Antalya, a leading sports tourism destination.
Turkish Airlines first became title sponsor of the tournament in 2013. Since then, the event has hosted world-renowned golf stars. These include Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, Justin Rose, and Sergio Garcia. Their participation elevated the tournament’s global reputation.
Beyond professional golf, the airline also supports amateur golf development worldwide. It organises the Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup, the largest amateur golf tournament globally. This year’s competition spanned 122 destinations across 83 countries.
According to the airline, the renewed deal guarantees continuity for players, fans, and organisers. It secures the tournament’s position on the international golf calendar for three more seasons. As a result, long-term planning and fan engagement will remain consistent.
The airline stated that the partnership supports its broader global engagement strategy. Sports sponsorship allows Turkish Airlines to connect with diverse international audiences. Additionally, it promotes Turkey as a world-class tourism destination.
Officials from the DP World Tour welcomed the agreement’s extension. They noted the National Golf Club will challenge players while delivering a rewarding championship experience.
The club’s management highlighted the course’s world-class design and hosting capability. Turkish Airlines’ leadership added that the sponsorship strengthens Türkiye’s global sports and tourism profile.
Overall, the renewed agreement reinforces Turkish Airlines’ dedication to sport, tourism, and international connection.
