President Bola Tinubu has returned to Lagos State to spend the end-of-year holidays. He concluded official visits to Borno and Bauchi states before his arrival. At Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, government officials, and APC chieftains warmly received him.
During his stay in Maiduguri, Tinubu attended the wedding of Sadeeq Sheriff, son of former Borno Governor Ali Modu Sheriff, and Hadiza Kam Salem. The ceremony highlighted the President’s commitment to social engagements across the country.
From Borno, the President traveled to Bauchi State to offer condolences to the family of Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi. The renowned Islamic cleric and Tijjaniyya Muslim Brotherhood leader passed away on November 27. Tinubu’s visit underscored his respect for religious and cultural leaders nationwide.
After completing these engagements, the President arrived in Lagos for a series of holiday activities. Among these, he will attend the Eyo Festival on December 27 as the guest of honour. The festival, held at Tafawa Balewa Square, will celebrate influential figures, including Tinubu’s late mother, Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji, and former Lagos Governors Lateef Jakande and Michael Otedola.
The President’s Lagos visit highlights both his personal and official commitments. By balancing national duties with cultural participation, Tinubu demonstrates leadership and connection to citizens. His holiday engagements aim to honour traditions and foster unity across Lagos State.
