“People don’t have ideas. Ideas have people.” – Carl Jung
An idea has you. It is more of a story than a single idea, conscious or unconscious. It guides your goals, desires, and actions.
GOALS are the results someone is attempting to achieve. Goals are a part of every aspect of business and life. They provide a sense of direction, motivation, a clear focus, and clarify importance. By setting goals, you are providing yourself with a target to aim for.
Anything you plan to achieve is your goal. For instance, if you plan on getting yourself a laptop, making that plan itself shows you have a goal to achieve. Saving up money for that particular thing you need shows how passionate you are about it. Saving money for that laptop shows that you really want that thing and you want to achieve that goal, no matter how long it takes. Remember, if you fail to plan, you plan to fail.
Before you think of setting any goal, you should be able to know if it’s a long-term or short-term goal.
A long-term goal is a plan set for a long period of time, such as a year or six months, while a short-term goal is a plan for a short period, like one week or at most one month.
You need to know the type of goal to set before planning for it. As a teenager wanting to buy yourself a laptop, it is a long-term goal because you have to save enough money for it since laptops are expensive.
Additionally, you need to learn how to set SMART goals, which stands for Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-based goals.
Smart goals help you in setting your goals.
Therefore, you need all these things in setting a smart goal, especially being timely. You need to work with time. There is no how you will work with me if you are not on time because I always have a target date. As the saying goes: Time waits for no man, and I add mine neither will it stop for any man.
Setting goals saves time. You won’t have much to do if you have plans, especially if you have a to-do list. Your day won’t be stressful. It will go smoothly because you have plans, and you won’t have any need to say, ‘I have not done this, I have not done that.’ It saves time.
Goals give you directions. This is what I have not done, and this is what I have to do. You will know your objectives when you set your goals.
Goal setting makes you accountable. You will not have any excuses because you set your goal right.
And lastly, it makes you stay motivated. You will be determined to do more.
I know that the title is ‘fastest way to achieving your goals,’ but I will tell you for a fact that there is no fastest way to achieving your goals than planning for it.
