Nollywood actress and filmmaker Ruth Kadiri has dismissed reports claiming that she died, reassuring fans that she is alive, healthy and safe.
The false reports circulated on social media, prompting the actress to address the claims in a video shared with her followers on Sunday.
Kadiri said she had not been involved in any accident and urged members of the public to disregard the reports.
“Please note that I am alive. I did not have any accident, and I am safe,” the actress said.
“I am alive and healthy,” she added.
The filmmaker also appealed to her followers to report social media accounts spreading the false information rather than helping the rumour gain further attention.
The death hoax comes as Kadiri continues to promote her latest project, Once Upon a Village, which has attracted attention across her digital platforms.
She recently released Episode 5 of the series on RuthKadiri247, featuring actors including Henrietta Ibekwe and Deza The Great.
Kadiri has built a strong online audience through her film platforms, where she regularly releases original Nollywood productions and behind-the-scenes content.
Her latest clarification puts to rest the social media reports concerning her alleged death and serves as another reminder of the speed at which unverified claims can spread online.
