The Rivers State House of Assembly has unanimously endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term.During its 37th Legislative Session on Wednesday, the House cited numerous federal projects attracted under his administration. These developments, they said, have positively impacted the state’s growth and infrastructure.
The endorsement was formalized in a motion signed by 26 members and read by House Leader, Mr. Major Jack (Akuku-Toru). The lawmakers explained that their vote of confidence ensures continuity and stability in governance.
Members recalled President Tinubu’s crucial role during the recent political crisis, describing his intervention as fatherly and stabilizing. They also praised his commitment to peace, calling it a clear demonstration of love for Rivers State.
The Assembly further commended the President for appointing notable indigenes into strategic federal positions. They emphasized that these appointments strengthened state-federal relations and boosted local political morale.
Responding, Speaker Martin Amaewhule (Obio/Akpor I) described Tinubu as a compassionate leader focused on national growth. He highlighted the administration’s strategic economic policies as impactful, people-centered, and forward-looking.
Finally, the lawmakers pledged to support the ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’ and promised grassroots loyalty to Minister Nyesom Wike. This endorsement signals strong political alignment within the state.
