Veteran Nollywood actor Ricardo Agbor has opened up about his 18-year journey to parenthood, revealing that he and his wife waited nearly two decades before welcoming their twins.
Agbor shared the experience during an interview with *AfricanAList*, where he reflected on his marriage, faith and the challenges the couple faced before becoming parents. According to the actor, he remained committed to his marriage throughout the long wait and continued to believe that he would eventually have children.
Agbor said he specifically prayed for twins and was eventually blessed with a boy and a girl, who are now 14 years old.
“It took 18 years for me to have the twins. And I waited. God knows, 18 years and they are 14 now, so I told God I wanted twins,” he said.
The actor also recalled the painful death of his mother, describing it as one of the most difficult experiences of his life. He said she had been undergoing treatment for several weeks without improvement before doctors recommended taking her abroad for further care.
Agbor said his mother later requested to be moved to another hospital in Surulere, but died in his arms while he was helping her into a car.
He described the experience as the first time he had cried outside an acting role, saying the loss was deeply painful.
