The Peoples Redemption Party has condemned the death of former Director of Army Public Relations, Major General Rabe Abubakar (retd.), who reportedly died while being held by bandits after his abduction in Katsina State.
The opposition party described the incident as a tragic reflection of Nigeria’s worsening security challenges and accused the Federal Government of failing to adequately protect citizens. While acknowledging the rescue of Abubakar’s wife by security forces, the PRP said more decisive action is needed to tackle kidnappings and banditry.
The party also renewed calls for stronger leadership and urged authorities to secure the release of other victims still being held across the country.
