Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen is eager to return after arm surgery, aiming to boost the team’s title chase. He assured club president Dursun Özbek that Galatasaray will secure their 26th Super Lig crown this season.
Osimhen underwent successful surgery on Monday at Maslak Acıbadem Hospital in Istanbul. The injury occurred during their UEFA Champions League clash against Liverpool at Anfield last week. The 27-year-old was discharged on Tuesday and is now under close medical supervision.
The striker is expected to be sidelined for roughly six weeks, potentially missing key league and cup matches. Turkish media suggest he could return for the Istanbul derby against Fenerbahçe on April 26, depending on rehabilitation progress. That game could be decisive, as Galatasaray currently leads the table by four points with a game in hand.
Osimhen expressed confidence in the team’s success, telling Özbek, “We will be champions, my president!” If he returns later, he may feature only in the final two league fixtures against Antalyaspor and Kasımpaşa.
Galatasaray also hopes to reach the Turkish Cup final, facing Gençlerbirliği in the quarter-finals. This season, Osimhen has scored 19 goals and provided seven assists in 29 appearances, strengthening the club’s league lead. He also contributed seven goals and three assists in ten UEFA Champions League matches before their exit. His return could prove crucial for the club’s championship ambitions.
