Experts say Nigeria’s large youth population remains one of its strongest but underutilised assets for national development.
Stakeholders argue that young Nigerians are already active in business, technology, agriculture, and innovation, but need stronger inclusion in governance, education, and economic planning.
Youth leaders and economists emphasise that investment in education, vocational training, entrepreneurship, and digital infrastructure could significantly reduce unemployment and drive long-term growth.
They also warn that failure to engage young people could worsen insecurity and social instability, as unemployment and exclusion increase vulnerability to crime.
