Football superstar Neymar has reportedly been left a staggering £846 million inheritance by a Brazilian billionaire, despite the pair allegedly never meeting in person.
Neymar Inherits £846 Million Fortune
According to Brazilian media outlet RIC, the billionaire’s will was officially signed in Porto Alegre on June 12 with witnesses present. The case is now awaiting Brazilian court approval before Neymar, 33, can legally claim the fortune.
The unnamed businessman, described as childless and single, is believed to have chosen Neymar because of the forward’s strong family values. Reports suggest he admired Neymar’s close bond with his father, Neymar Sr., which reminded him of his own late father.
Neymar’s Response
So far, Neymar has not publicly commented on the inheritance rumors. Even if approved, the will could face legal challenges before the money is transferred.
Neymar’s Career Update
The inheritance news comes as Neymar continues his comeback at Santos FC, where he recently signed a contract extension. Calling the club his “home,” Neymar said he wanted to finish his career dreams where it all began.
Despite a difficult spell with injuries, including an ACL tear in October 2023, Neymar remains Brazil’s all-time leading goalscorer with 79 goals. He hopes to return to form ahead of the next World Cup.
