The Igbomina/Ekiti Muslim Forum (IEMF) has called on Nigerians to use the Holy Month of Ramadan to seek divine intervention over rising insecurity in the country.
Speaking at the 2026 Annual Ramadan Lecture in Ilorin themed “Igbomina/Ekiti Muslims and National Security,” the Forum’s President, Alhaji Nasiru Ibrahim, described security as a moral obligation and urged Muslims to promote peace and righteousness.
Chief Missioner Alhaji Salaudeen AbdulQuadri encouraged Nigerians to dedicate the period to repentance, prayer, and reflection, stressing that both effort and faith are needed to address insecurity. He lamented that persistent attacks have prevented many residents of Igbomina Land from accessing their farms.
AbdulQuadri emphasised that Islam condemns violence and called for preventive measures to protect national unity. He also urged Muslims to avoid anger, uphold the sanctity of Ramadan, and embrace the month as a time of spiritual renewal and moral discipline.
