Manchester City forward Omar Marmoush is a doubt for Sunday’s derby against Manchester United after suffering a knee ligament injury while on international duty with Egypt.
The 26-year-old limped off in the fourth minute of Egypt’s goalless World Cup qualifier against Burkina Faso on Tuesday. The Egyptian FA confirmed he will undergo an X-ray in Cairo.
Marmoush, who joined City from Eintracht Frankfurt in January for £59 million, has scored eight goals in 28 appearances this season. His absence would be another setback for Pep Guardiola’s side, who are seeking a turnaround after a shaky start to the Premier League campaign.
