The father of Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown has been arrested in Las Vegas on an attempted murder charge after a parking lot stabbing incident, police said Thursday.
According to Las Vegas Metro Police, Quenton Marselles Brown, 57, allegedly stabbed a man multiple times during an altercation on Wednesday. The victim, who suffered chest, back, and hand injuries, was hospitalised.
Court records show Brown’s bail was set at $300,000. His attorney argued that he acted in self-defense and called the bond excessive.
Police reports say the fight began after Brown accidentally hit another car door while exiting his SUV. Witnesses claim the stabbing occurred after the victim turned away.
Jaylen Brown, a four-time NBA All-Star and 2024 NBA Finals MVP, has not commented publicly on the incident.
