Yoruba nation agitator Sunday Igboho has defended his recent actions amid growing concerns over insecurity across Nigeria. His remarks came as the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) and the Northern Elders Forum (NEF) cautioned against steps they believe could trigger anarchy and further destabilize the country.
Igboho maintained that his actions were aimed at protecting lives and property in affected communities. According to him, citizens have increasingly become concerned about persistent security challenges and the need for effective solutions.
However, both the ACF and NEF expressed reservations over the development. The groups stressed that while insecurity remains a serious national issue, individuals and groups must avoid actions capable of undermining law and order. They also urged the Federal Government and security agencies to intensify efforts to tackle criminal activities across the country.
Furthermore, the northern groups emphasized the importance of unity and dialogue in addressing the nation’s security concerns. They warned that any move capable of promoting division or lawlessness could worsen the already fragile situation.
As debates over insecurity continue, stakeholders have called for stronger collaboration among communities, security agencies, and government institutions to ensure lasting peace and stability nationwide.
