The Idahosa family has transformed its 100-year-old country home in Ehor, Edo State, into the Bishop JWI Idahosa Memorial College of Nursing Sciences.
According to Dr. Hilton Idahosa, the project honours the late Rt. Rev. Johnson Idahosa, the first Bini Anglican Bishop of the Diocese of Benin, who strongly believed in the power of education.
The new nursing college is equipped with modern simulation laboratories and aims to provide students with hands-on, practice-based training. It will also tap into the expertise of Nigerian healthcare professionals in the diaspora, integrating international best practices into its curriculum.
The family expressed confidence that the institution will help raise the standard of healthcare delivery across Nigeria while preserving Bishop Idahosa’s legacy.
“This college will not only honour Bishop Idahosa but also train a new generation of nurses to save lives and serve communities,” the statement noted.
With this initiative, Ehor Township is set to emerge as a centre of excellence for nursing education in Nigeria.
