Facebook will lead the spotlight at the 2026 African Creators Summit, offering unique on-ground experiences. The summit, taking place Thursday, 29 January, at Lagos’s Federal Palace Hotel, unites creators, storytellers, innovators, and digital entrepreneurs.
This year’s theme, “Building a Sustainable Ecosystem Where Africa Trades Its Swag,” aligns with Facebook’s mission to provide tools for audience growth, monetisation, discovery, and community engagement. Attendees will experience immersive activities designed to support Africa’s growing creator economy.
Oluwasola Obagbemi, Head of Communications, Sub-Saharan Africa at Meta, said, “We empower creators in their communities to succeed while sharing original content on Facebook.” She added that the summit showcases opportunities to connect with global audiences, engage authentically, and earn across all content formats.
The event will host young creators, Nigerian celebrities, and digital entrepreneurs, offering networking, collaboration, and interactive experiences. Participants will explore authentic engagement, community-building, and the value of meaningful relationships, reinforcing Facebook’s role in Africa’s creative ecosystem.
Convener Oladapo Adewunmi emphasized, “Creators shape modern culture, influencing trends, ideas, and societal norms.” He explained that the summit bridges creators, businesses, platforms, policymakers, and partners across Africa, highlighting Facebook’s commitment to supporting creativity as a driver of economic growth.
Facebook has continuously adapted to creators’ needs through Groups, Video, and Marketplace. Beyond an event, the African Creators Summit serves as a catalyst for a diverse, inclusive, and future-focused Pan-African creative ecosystem.
