Türkiye’s President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has criticised Israel’s recognition of Somaliland, warning it would destabilise the Horn of Africa.
Speaking alongside Abiy Ahmed in Addis Ababa, Erdogan stressed the importance of respecting sovereignty and avoiding foreign interference in regional affairs.
He highlighted Türkiye’s mediation efforts between Ethiopia and Somalia and noted strong bilateral ties, including $2.6 billion in Turkish investments in Ethiopia.
During the visit, bilateral agreements were signed, and Erdogan presented Ethiopia with Türkiye’s electric vehicle, Togg.
