The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has placed troops on nationwide alert to ensure security during the Easter celebrations.
Speaking in Abuja, Director of Defence Media Operations, Michael Onoja, said the military would maintain heightened vigilance, noting that festive periods often attract security threats.
He assured Nigerians that troops would not relax, adding that similar measures used during Christmas and Eid-el-Fitr would continue.
The DHQ also highlighted ongoing support from the United States, including intelligence sharing and training, aimed at strengthening counter-terrorism operations.
While the impact may not be immediate, Onoja expressed confidence that results would become visible in the coming weeks.
