Police in Lagos have arrested a couple, Paul Onyeama and Adline Ogbonna, over the alleged killing of their 10-year-old adopted daughter in the Igando area.
Residents accused the couple of subjecting the child to prolonged abuse, including physical assault and neglect, even while she was reportedly ill. The situation allegedly worsened when the girl was beaten severely, leading to her death. She was later taken to a hospital, where she was confirmed dead on arrival.
The incident sparked outrage in the community, with youths apprehending the suspects before handing them over to police. Authorities have launched a full investigation, with the case expected to be transferred to the State CID for further action.
