The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria Lagos State Branch has announced strong financial growth despite Nigeria’s challenging economic conditions.
Speaking during the branch’s 2026 Annual General Meeting, Chairman Akinwunmi Lawal revealed that the branch’s net assets increased from N254.4 million in 2024 to N264.3 million in 2025.
Lawal also disclosed that the branch recorded a net surplus of N10.4 million during the financial year while maintaining its position as the best organised branch nationwide.
The branch expanded its student outreach programmes by supporting professional examination registrations and partnering with institutions including University of Lagos and Yaba College of Technology.
Treasurer Damilola Owoeye credited the performance to prudent financial management despite inflation and rising operating costs across the country.
