Carloha Nigeria, the authorised distributor of Chery vehicles, has unveiled the new Chery Himla pickup. The truck is designed to support Nigeria’s commercial, agricultural, and logistics sectors efficiently. The launch event took place in Lagos, attracting fleet operators, entrepreneurs, and automobile enthusiasts. Guests experienced firsthand the pickup’s capability through simulated terrain test drives.
Managing Director Sola Adigun described the Himla as a milestone product empowering Nigerian businesses. He explained the pickup boosts efficiency for security outfits, farmers, logistics operators, and entrepreneurs. The truck features a 1,276-litre cargo bed, optimised chassis, and minimal wheel arch intrusion for larger loads. Integrated side and rear steps simplify loading and unloading in demanding work environments.
Built on a high-strength ladder-frame platform, the Himla supports over 1,000 kilograms of payload. Its reinforced rear-spring suspension ensures stability under heavy-duty conditions. The vehicle also boasts a three-tonne towing capacity, ideal for construction equipment and agricultural machinery. Higher-end models include advanced driver assistance systems, cargo anchoring points, and enhanced safety technologies.
Inside the cabin, passengers enjoy premium leather seats, a 15.6-inch touchscreen, and a 9.2-inch digital dashboard. Rear-seat comfort and quiet cabin design make long-distance travel more convenient. Chery’s engineers focused on balancing utility with driver convenience across commercial applications.
General Manager Felix Mahan highlighted the Himla as central to Chery’s global pickup vision. He emphasised its cargo capacity, load capability, advanced technology, and climate-adapted engineering. The vehicle is designed not just as transportation but as a trusted business partner for Nigerian entrepreneurs.
