The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has honoured the Presidents of Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda with its prestigious CAF President’s Outstanding Achievement Award, recognising their key contributions to the growth and development of football across Africa.
The awards were presented on Wednesday night at the 2025 CAF Awards ceremony in Rabat, Morocco.
Kenya’s President William Ruto, Tanzania’s President Samia Suluhu Hassan, and Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni each received the CAF achievement plaque for their roles in enhancing football infrastructure, strengthening national sporting systems, and supporting major continental tournaments.
CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe praised the three East African leaders for their exceptional commitment to football development, noting that their support continues to elevate the sport’s standards across the continent.
According to CAF, Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda recently co-hosted one of the most successful editions of the African Nations Championship (CHAN). The collaboration delivered upgraded stadium facilities, improved logistics, and an elevated operational standard that impressed officials and fans alike.
The joint hosting set a new benchmark for excellence both on and off the pitch and is now seen as a model for future regional co-hosting arrangements within African football.
The award presentation was part of a ceremony that also celebrated Nigeria’s Super Falcons, who were named Women’s Team of the Year, while Chiamaka Nnadozie won Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year.
