The Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to promote transparency and accountability in public procurement.
BPP Director-General, Adebowale Adedokun, described the partnership as a milestone in procurement reform, noting it would allow the bureau to report errant accountants to ICAN for disciplinary action.
ICAN President, Haruna Yahaya, said the collaboration would focus on value for money, discipline, national savings and capacity development.
