Key stakeholders in Nigeria’s aviation industry will gather in Lagos to discuss sector growth strategies. The meeting will focus on positioning Nigeria as a leading aviation hub in Africa.The Aviation Safety Round Table Initiative will host the event on March 26, 2026.
It forms part of the group’s first-quarter Business Breakfast Meeting for the year.The theme highlights boosting aviation’s contribution to Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product through hub development. Stakeholders will explore policy direction, infrastructure expansion, and private sector participation.
An aviation hub serves as a central airport connecting passengers and cargo across multiple destinations. This model enhances efficiency, increases traffic, and drives economic growth within the sector.The meeting aims to examine how Nigeria can leverage its geographic advantage and rising passenger demand.
Experts believe achieving hub status can significantly improve national economic performance.Mrs Olubunmi Kuku, Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, will deliver the keynote address. Her presentation will outline practical strategies for strengthening aviation infrastructure and operations.Industry leaders, including airline executives and airport managers, will participate in panel discussions.
They will share insights on airline operations, airport management, and global competitiveness.A second panel will address the role of aviation support services in economic growth. Experts will discuss fuelling, ground handling, engineering, logistics, and in-flight catering contributions.Participants will also explore how integrated services can enhance value creation and boost GDP.
Additional speakers will provide perspectives on communications and emerging aviation technologies.Since 2015, these meetings have shaped policy discussions and strengthened industry collaboration.
