The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) recorded a decline in revenue in May 2026 despite maintaining stable crude oil and natural gas production. According to the company’s latest Monthly Report Summary, revenue fell by nearly 13 percent from N4.971 trillion in April to N4.335 trillion in May, while profit after tax also declined from N481 billion to N462 billion. Nigeria has imported crude oil from Libya for the first time, with about two million barrels supplied in May 2026, as the Dangote Petroleum Refinery continues to diversify its crude sources amid domestic supply challenges. A serving member of the National Youth Service Corps, Joy Alkali, has empowered 1,102 students and women in Taraba State through vocational skills training, literacy programmes and Computer-Based Test (CBT) coaching under her Community Development Service project. Retail prices of cooking gas have continued to decline across Nigeria following improved supply from local production and increased imports, offering relief to households battling high living costs.
