The Super Eagles of Nigeria return to action on Saturday evening at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations when they take on Tunisia in their second Group C match at the Complexe Sportif de Fès in Morocco.
A win for Eric Chelle’s side would secure Nigeria’s place in the knockout stage, with both teams coming into the fixture on the back of opening-day victories. Nigeria defeated Tanzania 2–1, while Tunisia recorded a 3–1 win over Uganda.
Nigeria will look to striker Victor Osimhen to lead the attack as he searches for his first goal of the tournament, with support expected from Ademola Lookman, Samuel Chukwueze and Akor Adams. Wilfred Ndidi and Alex Iwobi are likely to feature in midfield, while Stanley Nwabali is expected to continue in goal.
Tunisia impressed in their opening match and are expected to retain much of the same lineup. Elias Achouri, who scored twice against Uganda, remains their key attacking threat, supported by a strong midfield led by Ferjani Sassi and Ellyes Skhiri.
The last meeting between both sides came at the 2021 AFCON, where Tunisia claimed a 1–0 Round of 16 victory. Nigeria, however, won their most recent competitive success against Tunisia in the 2019 AFCON third-place match.
With qualification within reach, the Super Eagles will aim to maintain their momentum and strengthen their title credentials against a familiar North African rival.
