The younger sister of former Minister of Power and APC governorship aspirant in Oyo State, Adebayo Adelabu, and her twin children have reportedly been kidnapped by unknown gunmen in Ibadan.
The incident occurred on Wednesday morning in the Challenge area of Ibadan South-West Local Government Area of Oyo State.
A video circulating on social media from the scene showed a red sedan with visible damage, smashed driver-side windows and its doors left open. Several residents were seen gathered around the vehicle while inspecting the scene.
Eyewitnesses in the video identified the victim as Adelabu’s younger sister, popularly referred to as the last-born of the family. According to reports, she and her twin children, identified as Peter and Paul, were abducted by armed men at Elewura, Challenge, while attempting to access the expressway.
A source familiar with the incident alleged that the victims were intercepted and whisked away by the attackers during the operation.
Reacting to the reports, the Oyo State Police Command said it was yet to independently verify the incident. Police spokesperson, Olayinka Ayanlade, stated that authorities were gathering information on the matter.
The abduction adds to growing security concerns in Oyo State. In May 2026, more than 40 teachers and students were reportedly kidnapped in Oriire Local Government Area, while APC chieftain Wale Oriade was abducted in Ibadan in December 2025.
