The World Bank Group has committed $8.2 billion to expand electricity access across Sub-Saharan Africa.
The initiative, known as “Mission 300,” is being implemented alongside the African Development Bank.
The programme aims to connect 300 million people to electricity by 2030.
World Bank President Ajay Banga described electricity as critical to economic growth and job creation.
The initiative is expected to support businesses, healthcare, and education across the region.
