Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has publicly shared a raw and extensive testimony of her personal transformation during a Sunday service at Streams of Joy International Church. She attributed her healing from smoking, alcohol addiction, masturbation, and chronic anger issues to divine intervention through the church’s New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declarations (NSPPD) service, led by founder Pastor Jerry Eze.
Dikeh revealed to the congregation that she started smoking at age 13 and battled the addiction for approximately 27 years. She linked the origin of the habit to early exposure at home, using the platform to caution parents about the influence their habits have on their children.
“I smoked since I was 13. God healed me from masturbation too,” Dikeh said. “I have known myself to have sexual intercourse in the dream ever since I was a child.”
The actress noted she chose to speak openly as an act of gratitude, despite initially feeling reluctant over concerns about her public image. She explained, “The devil tried to tell me that I was supposed to protect my image. But I told myself, what image? The God that gave me the image is the same God that can take it away.”
Finding Peace and Emotional Healing
The 40-year-old actress also spoke about struggling with what she described as “demonic anger,” a destructive force that previously affected her relationships and personal life.
“An anger that destroyed my life. Everybody had to feel it,” she confessed. However, through consistent engagement with NSPPD prayers, she claims God replaced the rage with inner calm. “Praying with NSPPD, God took all of those away and gave me peace,” she stated.
Dikeh emphasized the profound nature of her emotional change: “I am 40 years old, and I can tell you I have never known peace until now. I am living in it.” She confirmed that her body now repels cravings for cigarettes and alcohol, declaring, “My body does not ask for it. My body is repelling it. Today, it is broken.”
Following the powerful testimony, Pastor Jerry Eze prayed for the actress, declaring that “the body of sin is broken” and commissioning her as “a voice in her generation.” Dikeh subsequently shared photos from the venue on Instagram, labeling herself, “A living testimony of mercy. One God spared, restored, and commissioned.”
