President Bola Tinubu has praised the Bank of Industry for disbursing N636bn in 2025. He described it as the highest annual financing volume ever recorded. In a statement issued Thursday, Tinubu highlighted the milestone achievement. He said the performance validated his administration’s economic reform agenda.
Accordingly, he linked the disbursement to ongoing macroeconomic reforms. He explained that reforms strengthened development finance institutions nationwide. They also unlocked capital for productive sectors across Nigeria. Therefore, businesses gained greater access to long-term funding.
Tinubu noted that the N636bn boosted productive capacity nationwide. It supported agro-processing, manufacturing, infrastructure, and enterprise expansion. Agro-allied businesses received the largest allocation of N202bn. Meanwhile, infrastructure projects secured N100bn in financing support.
Manufacturing obtained N79bn to expand industrial output. Similarly, extractive industries accessed N77bn for operational growth. The services sector benefited from N55bn in structured funding. Additionally, BOI deployed N73bn in managed partnership funds. Despite economic headwinds, the bank maintained strong asset quality. Its non-performing loan ratio remained below 1.5 percent.
Furthermore, BOI secured a €2bn syndicated facility in 2024.It also mobilised €210m from global partners in 2025. Tinubu stressed that disciplined finance drives measurable development outcomes. He emphasised production, value addition, and enterprise growth. Moreover, BOI earned designation as Nigeria’s Adaptation Fund entity. The President reaffirmed his commitment to expanding enterprise credit nationwide.
