The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a suspected drug dealer, Aliyu Suleman, and recovered 64 bottles of Methylene Chloride and 17 pieces of rubber solution.
Suleman, 23, a resident of Tudun Salmanu, was arrested by operatives of the Vehicle Crime Response Unit during an intelligence-led operation at Bayan Gari in Bauchi metropolis at about 5pm on Tuesday, August 25, 2026.
The command’s spokesperson, Nafiu Habib, disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday.
According to Habib, the substances were recovered during a search of the suspect and have been seized and registered as exhibits.
“The suspect was intercepted during a routine intelligence-led operation. Upon search, the following exhibits were promptly recovered from the suspect: 64 bottles containing Methylene Chloride, locally referred to as ‘Suck and Die’, and 17 pieces of Rubber Solutions,” the statement said.
Suleman remains in custody and is cooperating with investigators. The police said he would be charged to court after the conclusion of the investigation.
The Commissioner of Police, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, reaffirmed the command’s commitment to tackling the distribution and abuse of harmful substances in the state.
He directed Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers to intensify surveillance and operations against networks involved in the sale and abuse of illicit drugs and other harmful substances.
The command also urged parents, guardians and community stakeholders to remain vigilant and provide timely information to security agencies.
“The fight against drugs and substance abuse requires a collective approach,” the statement added.
