Guinness World Records has confirmed a historic milestone for Nigeria’s vibrant Afrobeats music scene. A major concert featuring 85 musicians set the largest orchestra performing Afrobeats record. The event took place on December 16, 2025, at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Lagos.
It formed part of Trench Symphony: The Dapper Live Experience. Organisers brought together renowned musicians, singers, and instrumentalists for the groundbreaking performance. The orchestra performed under a conductor with synchronised arrangements and vibrant stage coordination.
Additionally, the concert featured a lead singer, choir, dancers, and dozens of instrumental performers. Their combined effort delivered a powerful fusion of Afrobeats and orchestral music. Notably, the performance included popular Nigerian artists and celebrated Fuji legends. Performers included Saheed Osupa, KS1 Malaika, Rybeena, and T.I Blaze.
Other featured artists included Bhadboi OML, Kashcoming, TML Vibez, Lasmid, and Heis Cazulee. Together, they created a memorable musical experience for the audience. Guinness World Records later reviewed and verified the historic performance. Consequently, the organisation officially confirmed the milestone after its detailed assessment.
According to Guinness, the orchestra consisted of exactly 85 musicians performing simultaneously. The coordinated presentation centered on an Afrobeats composition with orchestral elements. Furthermore, the event demonstrated Afrobeats’ growing global influence and creative versatility.
It also showcased how African music blends traditional and modern sounds. Organisers emphasised that the concert celebrated culture, precision, and artistic collaboration. Therefore, the event did more than entertain audiences. Instead, it made history and expanded the possibilities for Afrobeats performances worldwide.
