cJetHQ. The jet, which had been listed since July 2025 as part of the Bola Tinubu administration’s cost-cutting and fleet rationalisation strategy, is no longer visible on the firm’s website.
The Manager of Market Research at JetHQ, Laurie Barringer, confirmed the delisting in an email response, stating, “We no longer have the listing on the Boeing. You will need to reach out to the Nigerian Government for information as to what has become of the aircraft.”
Lack of Official Clarification
The withdrawal marks a new twist in the months-long attempt to sell the jet. The Federal Government initially listed the aircraft—which was purchased in 2005 for $43 million under then-President Olusegun Obasanjo—amid growing public scrutiny over the high cost of maintaining the presidential fleet.
Prior to its removal, the jet remained unsold nearly four months after its listing in July 2025, despite its average pre-owned market value being estimated around $56 million. The aircraft had undergone partial refurbishment and C1–C2 major inspections at AMAC’s Basel facility in July 2024.
Efforts to obtain clarification on the delisting from the Nigerian government have been unsuccessful, as the media aide to the National Security Adviser, Ismail Garba, has yet to provide the promised response.
