The NASD Securities Exchange recorded impressive growth and strong investor confidence throughout the 2025 financial year. Total market capitalisation surged to ₦2.12 trillion by year end. This represents a remarkable 106 percent increase from ₦1.03 trillion recorded in 2024. The expansion reflected renewed confidence and improved participation across the market.
Fresh listings played a critical role in driving the Exchange’s outstanding annual performance. In addition, widespread price appreciation boosted valuations across multiple listed securities. NASD actively executed its diversification strategy across key asset classes. As a result, trading activity increased across equities, fixed income instruments, and digital securities.
This shift confirmed the Exchange’s transition from strategy development into full execution. Meanwhile, the flagship over-the-counter market maintained steady but moderate trading activity. New company admissions helped strengthen market depth and liquidity. Improved stability among existing securities further supported consistent performance.
The NASD Pension Index also delivered exceptional gains during the year. The index climbed 215 percent to close at 3,002.68 points. This marked a sharp rise from 954.33 points recorded in the previous year. According to NASD, listing activity remained a key catalyst for sustained growth.
Managing Director Eguarekhide Longe highlighted the importance of the performance. He stated that the results reaffirm NASD’s leadership among alternative securities exchanges. He also emphasized NASD’s role in providing flexible capital raising platforms. These platforms support businesses outside traditional stock exchange structures.
