Martin Bakole, Congolese heavyweight boxer has boldly declared that he would knock out Anthony Joshua if the two meet in the ring . And he wants the fight to happen in Nigeria. Speaking confidently, Bakole said he would defeat Joshua “in front of his own crowd,” setting the stage for what he calls the “Rumble in the Jungle II.”
Following his loss to Daniel Dubois in September last year at Wembley Stadium. Joshua is expected to make his comeback fight early next year, with Nigeria being considered as the host nation. Bakole, who once served as Joshua’s sparring partner, is eager to take on the British-Nigerian star. He believes the bout would revive African boxing on the global stage.
“I’d take the fight with Anthony Joshua in a heartbeat. We’re both African fighters, and now boxing is coming back to Africa,” Bakole told Sky Sports. “Joshua knows what happened in sparring. If we get in the ring, I’ll knock him out no doubt. I’ll do it in Nigeria, right in front of his home crowd.”
Promoter Dr. Ezekiel Adamu, who recently organized the successful Chaos in the Ring event in Lagos alongside former world champion Amir Khan, confirmed that Bakole is one of several possible opponents being considered for Joshua’s highly anticipated return.
According to Adamu, Nigeria’s vast population and economic strength make it a prime location for such a landmark event. “There are many exciting options on the table,” he said, “but Martin Bakole is definitely one of them. We want a fight that will captivate the world and bring massive attention to Africa, especially Nigeria.”
While Ghana had earlier been mentioned as a possible venue. Nigeria now appears to be the frontrunner to host Joshua’s homecoming showdown.
