Tragedy struck in Ilorin, Kwara State, as a 30-year-old man, Olabosun Isiaka, died in a fire outbreak caused by a fallen high-tension wire.
Residents said the faulty line had earlier been reported to Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company but was not fixed before it snapped, triggering a fire that affected nearby buildings.
The victim reportedly died while trying to disconnect power during the incident, while his younger brother sustained injuries.
Authorities confirmed the cause of the fire, as residents called for accountability over alleged negligence.
