James Faleke has officially obtained the All Progressives Congress (APC) Expression of Interest and Nomination forms on behalf of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, signaling the early stages of preparations for the 2027 presidential election. This development marks a significant political move as the ruling party begins to organize its internal processes ahead of the next electoral cycle.
During a formal presentation in Abuja, the APC National Organising Secretary, Suleiman Argungu, handed over the forms to Faleke, who also leads the Tinubu Support Groups. Notably, Faleke completed the purchase of the forms, valued at N100 million, reinforcing strong party backing and commitment toward Tinubu’s potential re-election bid.
Meanwhile, the Independent National Electoral Commission has released a detailed timetable for the 2027 general elections. According to the schedule, presidential and National Assembly elections will take place on January 16, 2027. Subsequently, governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections will follow on February 6, 2027.
In addition, INEC confirmed that party primaries and dispute resolution processes will run from April 23 to May 30, 2026. Campaign activities for presidential and National Assembly elections will commence on August 19, 2026, while governorship campaigns will begin on September 9, 2026. As political activities intensify, stakeholders are expected to align strategies ahead of the polls.
