Five people have lost their lives, while eight others sustained varying degrees of injuries following a tragic road accident in Niger State. The fatal crash reportedly occurred along a major highway when two vehicles collided under circumstances that authorities are investigating.
According to eyewitnesses, the accident happened after one of the vehicles allegedly lost control, leading to a head-on collision. As a result, emergency responders and other road users quickly rushed to the scene to rescue trapped passengers and provide immediate assistance.
Medical personnel confirmed that five victims died on the spot due to the severity of the impact. Meanwhile, the eight injured passengers were transported to nearby hospitals, where they are currently receiving medical treatment. Officials have assured the public that the victims are receiving adequate care.
Furthermore, the relevant authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the crash. They also urged motorists to obey traffic regulations, avoid excessive speeding, and ensure that their vehicles are roadworthy before embarking on any journey.
