A fire incident broke out Monday morning at the building housing the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation in Abuja.
Eyewitness footage circulating on social media showed thick black smoke billowing from an upper floor of the multi-storey structure around 8:00 a.m., with the blaze reportedly concentrated in Section C of the building within the Federal Secretariat Complex.
Staff members were seen evacuating the area as emergency responders moved in to contain the fire.
Officials from the Federal Fire Service confirmed that firefighters were immediately deployed after receiving a distress call and were working to control the situation.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, and authorities say investigations will begin once the incident is fully contained. Further details are expected as emergency operations continue.
