The Federal Ministry of Water Resources and Sanitation says the Sustainable Power and Irrigation for Nigeria (SPIN) Project will play a key role in improving food security.
Minister Joseph Utsev explained that the project integrates irrigation systems with a reliable power supply to support year-round farming.
The initiative, supported by the World Bank, aims to modernise agriculture, create jobs, and boost rural economies.
Officials say the project will also improve dam safety, promote renewable energy use, and strengthen water resource management.
The government emphasised that collaboration across ministries and states will be essential to ensuring the success of the SPIN Project.
