The Dolphin Swimming League says it remains committed to discovering and developing young swimming talents for Nigeria’s junior national teams as it prepares to honour outstanding athletes and schools from its seventh season.
The league’s annual award ceremony is scheduled to hold at St. Saviour’s School, Ikoyi, Lagos. Tournament Coordinator, Oluseyi Oyebode, said the competition has grown significantly since its inception, expanding from fewer than five participating schools to more than 20 schools across Lagos and Ogun states.
According to Oyebode, several swimmers discovered through the league have gone on to represent Nigeria at international competitions and become regular members of the junior national team.
He described the league as a key platform for talent development and noted that its long-term objective is to produce future Olympians. The competition is sanctioned by the Nigeria Aquatic Federation, Nigeria Olympic Committee, and Nigeria School Sport Federation.
Oyebode commended parents, schools, and sponsors for their continued support, adding that the award ceremony will celebrate excellence while encouraging young athletes to remain committed to the sport.
