A former Bayelsa State governor and senator representing Bayelsa West, Henry Seriake Dickson, says many Nigerians are increasingly frustrated with the current state of the nation and are seeking political change ahead of the 2027 elections.
Dickson made the remark in Abuja during the unveiling of a digital membership registration portal for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), describing it as a key step toward expanding participation and strengthening the party’s structure.
He said Nigerians were “angry” with the status quo and eager for a credible alternative, positioning the NDC as a platform for driving change.
The event was attended by party leaders including the NDC National Chairman, Cleopas Moses, and National Secretary, Ikenna Morgan Enekweizu.
Dickson described the party as a pan-Nigerian movement focused on ideology and national development, adding that its digital registration system would promote inclusiveness and transparency while attracting members from across the country and diaspora.
The development comes shortly after Dickson resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which he criticised over internal crises and declining leadership.
