Popular singer Davido has denied fathering a young girl, Anuoluwapo. Her mother, Ayo Labinjoh, has repeatedly called for a DNA test to confirm paternity. The controversy reignited on January 15, 2025, through an Instagram post by Labinjoh.
In the post, a message allegedly from Anuoluwapo pleaded for clarity. She wrote, “I respectfully ask Mr. David Adeleke for a DNA test to establish my identity.” The appeal emphasized her desire for confirmation.
Davido responded on X, rejecting the claims and warning Labinjoh to stop contacting him. He insisted that five DNA tests were conducted, all returning negative results. He added that Labinjoh and her daughter should “leave me alone.”
Labinjoh countered, sharing private chats between her daughter and the singer. She claimed they met at a club in Ibadan and alleged that Davido ignored her after learning about the pregnancy. She also disputed the multiple DNA tests, insisting only one occurred. She alleged the result was falsified.
Labinjoh now intends to involve the U.S. Embassy to oversee an independent DNA test. Social media reactions remain divided. Some urge Labinjoh to move on, while others call on Davido to verify paternity for the girl’s wellbeing.
This saga, first raised in 2017, highlights the tension between celebrity, paternity claims, and social media scrutiny. Nigerians continue following the story closely.
