Cristiano Ronaldo is set to make football history after being named in Portugal’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The 41-year-old forward will become the first male player to appear in six FIFA World Cup tournaments, extending his remarkable international career.
Portugal coach Roberto Martínez described the squad announcement as emotional, especially following tributes to late international player Diogo Jota.
Portugal’s squad also features stars including Bruno Fernandes, Bernardo Silva, Rúben Dias and Rafael Leão.
With Ronaldo still central to the team’s ambitions, Portugal will aim for a strong run at the tournament as they pursue their first World Cup title.
