Champion Breweries Plc has successfully redeemed its N4.21bn Series 1 Commercial Paper at maturity. The paper was issued under the company’s N15bn Commercial Paper Issuance Programme. This development highlights the company’s strong financial discipline and effective liquidity management.
In a statement, the brewer explained that the Series 1 Commercial Paper offered cost-efficient short-term financing. As a result, the instrument improved liquidity levels and strengthened cash flow management. The company also noted that both Series 1 and Series 2 papers recorded 50 per cent oversubscription. This response reflects growing investor confidence in Champion Breweries’ credit strength.
According to the company, the redeemed Series 1 Commercial Paper had a 176-day tenor. It was issued at a competitive discount rate of 21.1081 per cent. The full and timely repayment further demonstrates prudent treasury operations and disciplined financial planning.
