Bayern Munich midfielder Jamal Musiala has reassured fans after revealing that he has experienced brief, temporary episodes of absence linked to a neurological dysfunction.
The 23-year-old addressed supporters on Instagram on Tuesday, saying he was doing well and thanking fans for their messages and support.
Musiala explained that the episodes may have been responsible for worrying moments witnessed during recent matches, including games against Leipzig and Heidenheim.
He said he is receiving specialist medical care and remains optimistic about his recovery, adding that Bayern Munich and those close to him have supported him throughout the process.
According to Musiala, there is currently “no additional health risk” beyond the condition he described.
The Germany international said he had consulted specialists and received clearance from neurological experts to continue playing football.
Musiala explained that remaining active and continuing his football career was part of how he wanted to approach his recovery.
The midfielder also asked supporters to respect his privacy and allow further details to remain within his family, Bayern Munich and medical team.
His statement came after reports that Musiala had collapsed during a pre-season friendly, following another concerning incident in Munich days earlier.
Despite the health scare, Musiala said he feels positive about his recovery and remains focused on returning to action with Bayern.
