Arsenal Injury Update
Arsenal are seeing mixed news on the injury front. William Saliba is back in training after completing 90 minutes against Wolves. Christian Mosquera will remain out until next month.
Gabriel is still missing from training, with reports suggesting he could return in about two weeks, just in time for the crucial clash against Aston Villa. Ben White faces another hamstring problem, picked up in the Wolves win, and is expected to be sidelined for roughly a month.
Martin Zubimendi hasn’t appeared in training. He isn’t injured but may be resting after heavy minutes. Kai Havertz is also absent. Mikel Arteta has a few days on the training pitch this week to address the team’s underwhelming performance against Wolves.
Defensive Concerns
Gary Cotterill from Sky Sports described Arsenal’s defense as “a bit like the Hokey Cokey: in, out, in, out.” Arteta highlighted “horrible defensive habits” in the Wolves game, despite the team earning a late, hard-fought victory.
Premier League Title Race
Gary Neville believes Arsenal still control their title destiny but cautions that Manchester City are closing the gap. City recently beat Crystal Palace emphatically and are now just two points behind Arsenal.
“Arsenal and City are the two teams that look like they’ve got the chance to win it,” Neville said. He stressed that Arsenal should not panic despite the scrappy Wolves win, but they must correct poor performances to avoid future setbacks.
Neville noted City’s strengths: Erling Haaland, Pep Guardiola, and experienced players ready to capitalize on any slip-ups.
